Description

I have decided to revisit my most recent artwork which can be seen here: rhinebeck.deviantart.com/art/W…

I am asking for critique, help, and suggestions, as I have taken it back to base layers, I already took the advice from a friend to add a trail behind the "ghost horse' but anything else is appreciated.  PLEASE TEAR IT APART (but please be nice about it)

hi there! xx
this is a very cute piece and i love it!
However, there can always be a bit of improvement in every piece of work!
i would try to put an effect over the background to make it more blended, and maybe make a new layer over the horses and set it to soft light xx
also, the manes and tails, if possible maybe try to make the strands "flow" but that depends what program you use xx also maybe a few more drastic highlights in there to give it a more natural look <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/h/h…" width="17" height="23" alt=":happybounce:" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="599" title=":happybounce:"/>
also make a new layer and call it shadows and go around with a black brush and colour in the parts that are shadowy then set the layer to soft light <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=":) (Smile)"/> do the same with highlights but only highlight where the light is hitting the object! this can also be done to the background to give it a cool effect!
Add a shadow <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=":) (Smile)"/> duplicate the horse layer then turn it so its under the horse then guassian blur it then lower the opacity so its a nice shadow and looks realistic!
also, if you have grass brushes try to erase a bit of the hooves/feathers to make it look more grounded <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w…" width="15" height="15" alt=";)" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="387" title=";) (Wink)"/>
I hope this was helpful and i look forward to more of your progress xx
